Ubernis and Yanelis
This time i have to show you many photos. I hope i am not boring you.
But the friendship with these Cuban people is close to my heart.
We know Ubernis since last year and this time he invited us twice for a fish-meal into his house.
I was astonished of the Spartanic house with many slits between the wooden planks and they told us laughing that is a very wet place when it is raining.
Ubernis showed me the place where he will build a house of stone (hand cut limestone) and he showed me very proudly the cavity where he will construct his bathroom.
The people there are very poor but i have had my best time in Cuba in their company. They all are so merry and cordial. Although i can only speak a little bit Spanish we could understand each other and had a lot of fun together.
And if i can manage it and will visit Cuba next year again i will become the godmother of the little baby Ubernis and i would like to do it.

A CUBAN FISHERMAN
|

Ubernis is a fisherman who earns his living with apnoea diving.
He can dive 10 meters deep and kills the fishes with a harpoon.

BACK FROM CUBA! (hummingbird, flower bird, Kolibri, Trochilidae)

Yesterday evening we came back from Cuba. This time i wanted to get perfect pictures of hummingbirds and i can tell you it was a hard job...
Twice a day i walked to the places they like most in the best time and was hunting them with my camera...
But i think at least it worked!

A HUNGY SQUIRREL IN THE GARDEN

Yesterday we saw a very hungry squirrel in the garden that was eating the feed for the birds. We bought nuts and put them on the patio and the happy squirrel came immediately and took a nut, brought it to another place and buried it into the earth.
Then it returned and did the same again. I wonder if it will find the nuts when it needs to eat them.
With these pictures i say good-bye for 3 weeks. We are going to Cuba again leaving the snow and the cold temperatures here and i hope to bring back many beautiful pictures.

It is not unusual to see a cart with Zebus on the motorway.
And many many bicycles often with more persons on one bicycle.

SUNNY COLD MORNING WITH HOARFROST IN COLOGNE

Yesterday morning was a wonderful winter day. It was very, very cold but sunny and the fog of the night painted the trees beautifully white.
It was so cold at the market that the fruits were covered with blankets
and the oil of the cutting machine was frozen when i wanted to buy some slices of cheese.

WINTER IN COLOGNE

The little lake in the Klettenberg-Park in Cologne is frozen and the children have a lot of fun there.
